Battlefield 2142 is a first person shooter game, similar to Battlefield 2, but with a futuristic twist. Even though it was released in October of 2006, BF: 2142 still has a large active player base. I picked up a copy of the game in 2007 (after playing the demo version daily for a few months) and it is still my favorite game.

Braid is a puzzle/platformer game with a twist. Unlike most titles, majority of the puzzles are solved via time manipulation.
